The Cavett Kids Foundation website video highlights Camp Cavett over the years through chronologically-ordered photos. Founder Danny Cavett’s voice can be heard in the background explaining a little bit about who we are and what we do. The transcript for his voiceover is as follows:
“Hello, my name is Danny Cavett. We have Cavett Kids Foundation. Years ago at the hospital, I found out that there’s a population of kids that people thought that they looked normal, but actually, they were not. They looked normal this week, but next week they could be in the ICU, or even not here. So it was an idea of mine and a whole bunch of others that followed that idea, and so we started a foundation for chronically ill kids. Not only the handicapped, but also those that don’t look like they’re handicapped. It’s a place where kids can see someone else going through the same thing. Connection is very important because “wow! I’m not the only one going through the same thing.” When they get to camp or other events that we have, they say “wow, this is so neat!” I’ll ask that you join us in helping us out making these kids feel like yes, they do belong… And that’s “where illness does not define the child."
His voice transcript is also displayed in subtitles throughout the video.
